It is a complete work about our research of 2,5 years in the Gottscheer area and the crowning of our work. A book in which all villages and settlements of the Gottschee are described, with all names, house names and house numbers of their former inhabitants, as well as with the mention of all the villages in the Gottscheer area.

The dark sides of the Gottschee, the mass graves, are also illuminated. The 220 stories in rhyme express the thoughts of the author and the many prose stories tell about the life of the Gottscheer.

Many fate reports of the Gottscheer compatriots, which they made available to us for this book, are also included in this book, as well as 20 stories, seen "through the eyes of a woman" and written down by the author. 1880 photos show the picture of Gottschee today and lighten up the many reports.

Gottschee lives, is a book that belongs in every family, especially if they have a connection to this corner of the world. The time also comes for the youth, when they want to get to know their roots.

Gottschee as it was is past, this Gottschee will not exist in the future. Gottschee as it is today was recorded in the book so that it would not be forgotten.

That Gottschee is still alive today is ensured by cultural associations and people who are not indifferent to this history and have discovered their heart for this corner of the world.
